Photographer's Note

Banbury is a historic market town in Oxfordshire, South East England. A nursery rhyme, 'Ride a Cock Horse', has made Banbury a well known towns in England. The cross was erected in 1859 at the centre of the town, a spire-shaped monument decorated with statues of Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V were added in 1914 to commemorate the coronation of George V. The cross is 16 m high, and topped by a gilt cross.
