Day or night ?, a photo from Quebec, Central

Photographer's Note

It was a rather ordinary shot which I almost threw away but then I decided to use it to practice with an infrared filter. That's what I did + played with levels to transform this day shot in a night shot. A very simple and quick processing which gives surprising results.
Maybe not to the taste of the purist, but IMO it's the result that counts.

Nina, it is daylight still. The moonlight is much colder :-) The work is like an illustration from a children fairy tale book where Evil surrounds Good. Very tasty and enigmatic! You didn't waste the time! Thank you.

I like the ambiguity. It's like in the movies when they shoot at night with lots of light to simulate days. Then on the other hand, it's a very moody and spooky photograph ...

Je croyais que le filtre infrarouge devait être utilisé avec un film infrarouge (voir discussion).
Le résultat est surprenant au niveau couleurs quoique l'image est légèrement floue.

I'm glad to see that someone else takes "ordinary shots" that they feel like throwing away. I like your experimentation- it works. If you had the bottom of the tree and grass a little darker, I would look for 3 witches stirring a caldron. It's a very good way to save a shot and transform it to something we can all enjoy.
