Photographer's Note
I took this shot today at the south gare in Redcar, England. It was a bit misty but, The mist stopped the flare from the sun by veiling it. I silhouetted this image to emphasize the tension on the rod and line. Thanks for looking and all comments and critiques welcome.

Nice shot. Use of silhouet works well as does the yellow colortone which gives the photo a very warm feel. In terms of composition perhaps placing the man a bit more too the left would be more interesting.

great shot ged
like the warmth of the photo
you can also just make the line out from the rod
really like the pic, for some reason you get the feeling that you know the fisherman but just cant put a name on him
well done

Hi Ged,
very good contrast of these silhouettes of the fisherman with his cane, and the thin plants, with these yellow & soft brown background.
It also has an asimetric movement... the cane is curved towards the left side and the plants towards the right side. Good moment! you caught the movement.
I like it very much.
Best regards from Barcelona

Hiya Ged,
i like this shot a lot, the way the reeds are bending one way and the rod is bending other way. The background of mist and the low camera position as created a bold image. very well done indeed.

Hello Ged,
Wonderful shot. I really like the silhouette of the man against the sky. However, I have difficulties to understand what he is doing. In which direction is the water? Is he really fishing?

I think you have something special here Ged. You have caught the fisherman at exactly the right moment, and yes the choice of silhouette was the right one. I'm going to put this in my favourites

Hello ged. Nice shot, i like the yellows with the darks. A man with no face. You can look at this photo and ask, who is he. Well done!

Hey Ged, you really hit the nail on the head with this one! A fantastic shot, great (almost) silhouette taken at just the right moment. Your best shot so far in my opinion!
I think maybe I woudl have been tempted to do a bit of post processing to make the man 100% silhouette but then that may have spoilt the effect. either way I love it as it is, well done!

Hi Ged, nice shot, the curve of the man's back and the grass give sense of tension and dynamism, made stronger by the opposite sense of tension of the rod.
A good shilouette, really caught in the right moment.
OK!

Hi Ged, What a great photo you have posted here! It is so simple and perfect in its simplicity. I love how the grass follows the curve of the man's back and his rod going the opposite way. You just expect everything to move back into place when he has thrown out the rod. Absolutely brilliant! Thank you! Sabine

Great silhouette shot Ged, the colour is wonderful and the bend of the fishing rod emphasises the action in the shot.

Wonderful silhouette image Ged. Colour tone is lovely. I think the curve of the grasses to the right complements the curve of the rod to the left very nicely. Well done!

Fantastic colour and composition. I like the way the figure is not quite silhouetted, revealing just a hint of detail.

I love the background color in this photo. I see he is pulling from behind him. It does look odd for the grass to be blowing one way and the rod bent the other direction. Nice color Ged.

Hi Ged
excellent shot. I like the dramacity of fisherman's movements and the grass that is folded in oposite way of the fisherman's stick (?). Colours are just great. TFS

Hi Ged, A very well capture of the moment. I like the silhouette view of the action. It is fun to see the rod bending in a different direction in comparing with the grass on the ground. Nice mood and excellent shot.
