Photographer's Note
Moroccans typically I have found to be very rhythmically orientated. No matter where you are or what is going on if there is a performance of any kind going on people will be clapping their hands or banging on what ever they can find.
The evening of our over night stay in the Sahara every tent hums of percussion and singing displays. Our tent rocked as we had brought the guitar and where jamming out renditions of 'No Women No Cry' with the call and response of English to Arabic.
The photo: Due to sand finding its way into my camera and lack of batteries the lens wouldn't open complete unless forced. I didn't realise it at the time that I had only captured the frame like this but I liked the effect anyway.
Please check out the workshop for a full frame of the men playing Tam Tam's, of which you can read about here: Tam Tam Drum Info

The effect is electrifying, to say the least.
The blurred focus adds to the great ambience you have captured in this shot, inadvertently though!

Hi Mike,
This is a very well composed picture. Stunning contrast of colors. You are right, arabs do love to clap and bang anything that comes in their hands! lol
Very well done.
Regards, Ramy.
