Photographer's Note
A statue of John McGill, founder of McGill University in Montreal, in front of some of the buildings on this campus. I have this pic since a couple of months, I had some notes on J. McGill but I can't find it anymore.
What I can say is that McGill University is the first university in Montreal (founded at the end of the 19th century I believe). It is well known around the world for it's quality teaching.
There are 3 other universities in Montreal.
Université de Montréal
Concordia University
UQAM - or Université du Québec à Montréal. This last university has some campus all over the province, which makes it more accessible to everyone who wants to pursue his studies and does not live near Montreal, Quebec or Sherbrooke where there are universities.
I would find it interesting to have a theme on universities or even schools around the world. So I invite you to take pics of these teaching places and post them. I will open a theme even if I only have 1 pic posted on that theme.
For other Montrealers I intend to post a pic of Université de Montréal. If you can take pics of UQAM and Concordia please do so.

Nice picture Nina. Colours and dof works really well here. Though I would crop out the part of the building in the right side of the picture. It is a very modern building and disturbes the fine old university.

a very especial picture for me Nina, as a former McGill´s student.
it´s great to see those green roofs again :))
although i was studying in another building up the hill at McTavish Street, i used to go to this garden to feed the squirrels.
sweet memories :)) thanks a lot for sharing.

Good composition, Nina. I like the 'action' statue and the way you have framed the shot, with the statue off center and walking away from the buildings. Very interesting note too. Well seen.

Lovely NIna. The green colour of the copper is really nice. Looks like a lovey park and univeristy. A place for inspiration. I like the way you have positioned the staute as this makes it seem that he is wlking towards me. That in turn makes the picture more alive, even though there are no pepole in the picture. Well done as usual Nina.
