Photographer's Note

Members of Amanar, one of the new groups that emerged in the north of Mali, in the town of Kidal located in Adrar des Iforas region. They are playing a kind of desert blues, most famous is a group Tinariwen heavily touring the world and spreading the message of Tuareg culture, and rebellion. Lyrics, often with political content, speak about Tuareg grievances in country ruled by southerners, about love for vast deserts, about their women, about exile in Libia. More photos of Kidal music scene to come soon. /
