Face à la mer, l'homme est seul sur le banc.
Comme dans un spectacle monotone, il repense à sa vie de pêcheur.
Aux cris moqueurs des mouettes.
Aux vagues qui frappent la coque des bateaux.
Au vent qui cingle le visage.
A l'humidité qui pénètre les vêtements.
A la peur de se perdre.
A ceux qui ne sont jamais revenu.
Aux fortunes et aux échouages.
Face à la mer, l'homme est seul.

Troisième et dernière image de cette mini série en noir et blanc. Les 3 images ont été prises au même moment.

Très beau travail, où pour la dernière tu nous donne une touche humaine, l'homme face aux éléments.

I eouldn't know which one to choose as the three of them are great, each one in their way. On this one I like the posture of this old man sitting on the banch and just watching the wide open sea.
I really like this sky and the patterns formed by the clouds and the tones of the photo, even if they look a bit strange on this one.

Oh God, Bertrand, this is so gorgeous! You and the sky! Fantastic one again! That solitary man under what we call in Hungarian "sheep clouds" reminds me a bit of German Romantic landscape paintings, Kaspar David Friedrich in particular... excellent, artistic, brimming with beauty again...

This is something that I also enjoy doing in late afternoon. Just seat on a bench and contemplate the sea. It is extremely relaxing and invigorating. Your B&W is superb and the POV very nice. Well done.

Tres evocatrice, avec ce grand ciel, ces beaux nuages et ce ptit banc, cet homme devant cette immensite. C'est super bien fait, ca me ramene sur le sentier des douniers en Bretagne ou je me suis bien souvent retrouve dans cette situation. Bravo!

There is no doubt about if is nice or not the photo, if is nice or not the scene.
Is a very beautiful photo (the sky and the composition are good proves), but I think that needs more contrast.
At least in my monitor looks necessary.

I can see a childs face in those clouds. His eyes are well formed, and he have curly hair, bottom portion of the face is disappearing, and whats going on the old man,s mind who is sitting there...

Cher Bertrand ... you always find these wonderful words that suit exactely the mood of your photo. It somehow is a sad photo, how he sits there just by himself, staring out to the sea and you wonder what goes through his mind. I love these clouds moving over symbolizing maybe the dark moments he went through and that we all sometimes have. But there is light in the sky too ... never to forget.

Thanks for going over these moments with us ... we all get old and might sit there just by overselves some day in the future. Barbara.

Amazing, poetic atmosphere in this one. Transmitts a rather melancholic and sad feeling, that I really like! Your composition is perfect and so is your choice of b&w. I would prefer it a little bit darker though (I always prefer photos little darker than normal, so don't bother). Congratulations!

Another fantastic sea-and-sky shot, Bertrand. It's perfect how you placed the man very low in the frame. The tones are simply beautiful to look at. I might agree with Fred, though, that the mix of B/W and sepia is a little odd--maybe straight B/W, or very slight sepia all over, would have been even better. But I can't complain because it's pretty stunning as it is! Regards, Ken.

Encadrer est spectaculaire avec l'homme seul s'asseyant à la fin du mettre hors jeu, ainsi des autres pourraient se reposer avec lui si elles souhaitaient. La mer se casse à ses pieds et la formation spectaculaire de nuage menace orageux survivent à. C'est un ciel cet amour d'I'd à voir en couleurs. Votre poésie est très vraie. SAJ, Pat

The framing is spectacular with the lonely man sitting at the end of the bench, so another could sit with him if they wished. The sea breaks at his feet and the spectacular cloud formation threatens stormy weather. This is a sky that I'd love to see in color. Your poem is very true.

Bonjour Bertrand, great sequence on this series: first a lonely tree, than a lonely house and now a lonely old man facing the sea. Excellent composition in a very moody atmosphere and a wonderful cloudy sky. The b&w gives the nostalgy thatgoes well with the note. Really good work!

Salut Bertrand, quelle belle série ta série de NBs ! Comme quoi même à blainville on peut faire des perles photogrpahiques. C'est pas la peine de se trouver au pied du taj, en haut du machu pichu, les simples moments de la vie quotidienne sont également très propice à la photogrpahie : en chaque instant de la vie, à chaque endroit recele un trésor à photographier.
Ta note est superbe également, froide, marine, triste, comme l'est la photo, oui le monde de la marine est dur, et oui en bretagne comme en normandie, on en a perdu des marins.

A very effective use of a stormy sky in B&W to obtain good drama, with the man on the bench perfectly placed off centre. The lighting is just sufficient to retain all of the essential details, as you controlled well the more glaring portions of the sea and sky. The note is apropos and appreciated.

This is a real moody and even a lonely image. The conversion to B&W really adds to the mood no, makes the mood. I like the composition with the use of the WA lens to dramatize the sky and the position of the gentleman in the frame. Exposure looks to be spot on. Well done!

Le sujet est bien composé, mais c'est surtout la sensibilité exprimée par des nuances et de la délicatesse dans le contraste qui fait l'image...
Magnifique comme les deux précédentes qui m'oblige à sortir de mon silence :-))

symbôle de l'âde de raison, de l'age de la sagesse, de la porte vers la vie éternelle peut-être, le moemnt où on peut se reposer, laisser agir les autres, décompresser, débrayer, profiter de certaines choses qu'une vie toute entière à proposé et à côté desquelles on passe souvent.
Simplicité du moment et des pensées, plus aucune questions mais des réponses, celle que l'on va rechercher au loin dans sa vie comme au bout de l'océan.

Belle photo Bertrand, j'aime beaucoup. Le N/B renforce la nostalgie.

Je ne sais qui a mis ce banc là,surement un ami de la nature qui a laissé une invitation à la gente humaine de s'y assoir et de partager la poésie du ciel et de la mer conjugé.
La présence de cet homme est essentielle pour donner tout son sens à l'endroit,car çà prenait quelqu'un pour admirer ce spectacle.
Une composition exceptionelle,surtout en N&B.
