Sunrise Sleep, a photo from Cebu, Central Visayas

Photographer's Note

This scene was taken at Bantayan town wharf after I shot my previous posting (Bantayan Sunrise). This is facing west, thus I only got the color cast from the sunrise. I was fortunate that the full moon was still visible.
When people from the outer islands visit the main township to trade or buy provisions, they normally just sleep in their boats overnight while waiting for the tide to come up.

sa susunod kong bisita sa Cebu, kailangan marating ang Bantayan Island. noong huli kong bisita, niyaya ako ng aking pamangkin na puntahan ito, kaso yong araw na yon ay patungong Maynila na ako. sabi'y 4-5 oras ang biyahe nito mula Lahug. I am a loser!

a scene like this with both the sunrise and the moon together is a golden capture! kanindot, Bai.

The blue tarp make a nice contrast against the warmer colours of the morning. The view is pleasant and colourful. I think you balanced the image very well and placed the boat properly. Nice deep view of this ocean scene. THanks Renier.

You have included some wonderful elements to go along with the beautifully peaceful sunset. The traditional fishing vessels are seen in remarkable details and nice flowing lines as they are surrounded by striking reflections from the sky and moon. Exceptionally clear colors and razor sharp details to this breathtaking composition.

You can often get the best sunrise/set shots with the sun behind you. I've often seen the moon out during the day, but to see it amongst the pink clouds is a wonderful sight. The reflections are also very attractive and have a wonderful sheen. Amazing to see the people asleep in their boats. They must be heavy sleepers. :D Good work

I'm not too much a fan of sunset photo but this one is different with the catamaran in the FG and this sort of causeway in the BG, plenty of little details to observe and nice atmosphere !

Bonjour,
belle photo de ce coucher de soleil sur ce port avec ces embarcations superbes.
Les reflets du soleil et de ces lueurs sur cette eau calme sont magnifiques.
Cette personne qui dort sur ce bateau a l' avant est bien prise et nous donne un aperçut de ce que ces gens font, il faut le faire de dormir ainsi dans si peut de place.

I like to see the full moon among the pink clouds which are reflecting so nicely in the water. An interesting marine scene with the typical outrigger boats, in a nice morning atmosphere, well presented. The horizon seems to be slightly curved, but that's a minor detail.
